About Nalanda Literature Festival
The Nalanda Literature Festival (NLF) is a vibrant celebration of ideas, knowledge, and cultural exchange, inspired by the timeless legacy of Nalanda one of the world's oldest centers of learning. Set against the historic and scenic backdrop of Rajgir and the Nalanda ruins, the festival brings together thinkers, writers, artists, scholars, and audiences from across the globe.
NLF is more than a literary gathering it is a confluence of disciplines, generations, cultures, science and perspectives. It creates a space where tradition meets innovation and where dialogue becomes a bridge between the past and the future.

The Nalanda Literature Festival was initiated in 2025 with the vision of reviving the intellectual spirit of ancient Nalanda in a contemporary format. Drawing inspiration from centuries-old traditions of debate, discourse, and scholarship, NLF was conceived as a modern platform for meaningful conversations.
Since its inception, the festival has grown into a global stage for ideas while staying deeply rooted in regional identity and heritage.
